GOOD to GrOw™ Program Highlights
- Veterans and First Responders are linked with existing community garden programs as volunteers, subject matter experts, or garden team leaders.
- Veterans and First Responders are recruited to assist with the establishment of, and act as advisors for, new community gardens for schools, churches, and neighborhoods.
- Collaboration with existing farmers markets and establishment of new markets to generate program funds from sales of community garden produce and other artisan items produced by the veterans, first responders and volunteers.
- Opportunities for veterans and first responders to restore and enhance their spiritual well-being in safe and welcoming environments – labyrinth walking meditations, dog-friendly gatherings, connection or reconnection with spiritual communities, engagement with meaningful civilian community service activities.
