Leslie Cromwell
Co-founder, Vice President and Secretary
Leslie has always been an animal lover and advocate. After saving a Pit Bull puppy from being sold on the street for possible gang-related dog fighting, her passion for animal rights and advocacy became focused on the rescue, rehabilitation, and advocacy for this amazing breed. After watching a video made by David Sharpe, a retired veteran with PTSD that spoke to the healing he found with his adopted Pit Bull, the idea of pairing the large number of adoptable pit bulls with the equally large number of veterans suffering from PTSD became a calling. Since 2011 Leslie has worked closely with the Tri-City Animal Shelter as a volunteer, pit bull advocate and volunteer trainer. She served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter from 2012 to 2015, first as the Director of Social Media and Website Development, and then as President, resigning in October 2015 to focus on Warrior Spirit Project.
